Álvarez Arquitectos is a Costa Rican studio founded in 2007 by architect José Manuel Álvarez, with its office in San Ramón, Alajuela. Its services include masterplanning, architectural design, construction drawings, interiors, landscaping, permits, construction inspection and project management. Its published work is concentrated in Santa Teresa, Mal País and Montezuma, with houses, small hotels, cabins and restaurants.

An approach to architecture.

The studio works with bioclimatic design for the tropics: natural ventilation from sea breezes, sun control through deep eaves and materials such as wood, bamboo and palm suited to the coast.
